Fisheries Minister Joyce Murray announces that the federal government will not renew 15 open-net pen salmon farms around BC’s Discovery Islands, a key migration route for wild Pacific salmon.  Minister Murray states that recent science indicates uncertainty over the risks posed by the farms to wild salmon.
