Wednesday’s gathering of First Nations, commercial fishers, tourism operators and environmental scientists represents unprecedented unity among groups in British Columbia calling for an end to open-net pen salmon farms.

“The majority of First Nations as well as many scientists and environmental groups say the pens are linked to the transfer of disease to salmon.”
