The Transition Plan “has been underway and committed to for four years now,” says Bob Chamberlin, Chair – First Nation Wild Salmon Alliance.

“I’m hoping this new Minister will pick up where the previous two Ministers left off, by embracing the precautionary principle and providing necessary safeguards for BC’s beleaguered wild salmon runs.”

With the current state of BC’s iconic wild Pacific salmon population, government must err on the side of caution to ensure we don’t “march down the same road as the East Coast cod collapse.”
