Backlash on salmon farm ‘textbook’
The First Nation Wild Salmon Alliance (FNWSA), representing over 120 First Nations from across BC, supports the removal of salmon farms from BC waters.
The FNWSA argues that the current technology is only adding to environmental concerns and contributing to the decline of wild Pacific salmon populations.
“We are sadly going to be the generation that’s watching, witnessing the demise and potential extinction of many salmon runs of the Fraser River,” says Bob Chamberlin, Chair – FNWSA.
Salmon farming ‘innovation’ will not protect wild Pacific salmon. It’s time transition ocean-polluting Atlantic salmon farms from coastal BC waters by 2025.
